This post contains both a cute baby and an amazing video, so you should probably read it.

And in a flash, it was Friday once again.

This week was seriously just a big bowl of delight for me (and the Husband). Like, this week was better than a bowl of s’mores ice cream, and we all know how much I love that stuff.

Some highlights of this week included: Church group, a great arms workout at CrossFit, meeting our new ‘niece’ who I am madly in love with already. (Oh, and we ate dinner with her parents, too. They’re also pretty cool.), and enjoying a few glasses of wine and a great dinner with my mom.

As a sidenote: I must say that any restaurant that offers wine tasting for free is my kind of place for sure. When the Husband and I joined my mom for dinner on Thursday she took us to a restaurant we had never been to before. Unfortunately, there was an hour wait for a table. Fortunately, they offered free wine during the wait. Like, any wine you wanted. Glasses and glasses and glasses. Uhhhh what?!

Heaven.

Also, it’s amazing how quickly you’ll join a wine of the month club after a few glasses of wine.

For dinner I ordered scallops and that’s when the night reached perfection levels.

Scallops… wine… yes. A million times over, yes.

Life is good wonderful in every sense of the word.

And now it’s Friday and the Husband and I are off to a church retreat with our couples church group. You can never work on marriage too much, right?!

(Yes, we did just do a marriage conference a month ago… I absolutely love this sort of thing.)

Let’s get onto Friday Fours!

This baby is clearly ready for the weekend! (The second one of her life!)

4 Favorite Things:

  • Rainy fall days. (Although, these are not Ozzie’s favorite. He pretty much refuses to walk in the rain, making it painful for both of us. I feel like I’m going to be accused of cruelty to animals as I drag his booty down the street and around the block. Such a difficult only-dog.)
  • Wine tasting.
  • My new niece! (Our friends had a baby and we are already in love with her!)
  • Reading blog posts from the comfort of my bed.

4 Confessions:

  • I’ve almost been unemployed for four months and the time has flown, but I will admit that I’m starting to feel a little bit defeated with the whole ‘find my perfect job’ thing.
  • I seriously think of so many good blog post ideas in the shower, but of course as soon as I get out of the shower (and am able to write the ideas down) I forget all about them.
  • I am making the Husband re-watch every episode of Breaking Bad. He watched it alone the first time, but now I want to watch it and refuse to do so alone because it’s a bit dramatic, darnit! I mean, seriously, someone has to warn me if something terrible is about to go down.
  • Seeing our close friends with their new daughter was one of the very sweetest things for me. I’ve never seen this couple so happy and at peace (even though they were tired!) It was really refreshing to see a couple act totally ‘normal’ (not crazy/chaotic/paranoid/etc) with a newborn. I even thought to myself “wow, I could maybe do this shit stuff one day!”

4 Posts I Wrote This Week:

  • I was a marathon runner, but now I’m kind of… not. (Mon)
  • When I grow up… (Tues)
  • Of course I got low on my wedding day! (Wed)
  • Things I’m NOT. (Thurs)

Featured Video:

*You may have noticed that this is a change… usually I have a featured blog in this spot (and if you want to be featured, you can totally do that), but today I saw a video that I just needed everyone to see so that’s being featured instead! Ah, having a blog is great… I get to make all of my own rules!

This video is especially of interest to people who:

  1. Have tried online dating. (me and the Husband are obviously included in this group)
  2. Are data nerds. (I’m also raising my hand for this one)
  3. Are interested in matchmaking. (Yep, yep, yep).
  4. Appreciate a modern love story. (I started tearing up at the end… oh hey, hormones)
  5. Want to feel better about their dating life. (I could definitely relate to her struggles!)
  6. Enjoy and can relate to bad date stories. (Heck to the yes.)

Please, just watch this gem. You will love it.
