So many sprinkles… obviously it was a great week.

I distinctly remember on Friday of last week I was telling my friends how quickly the week had gone by. Like it was an awesome week that just flew right on past me. And then yesterday I realized that another week had gone by since then and now I’m just in disbelief because why does time go by so quickly?!

I know. I say that every week.

I’ll stop eventually, I promise. (OK, I probably won’t. Sorry.)

happy birthday balloons

For those of you wondering how I spent my birthday, here are the highlights: I worked from home. I ate froyo for lunch. I went to barre class at Pure Barre. My MIL sent me an Edible Arrangements basket that was amazing. I ate black bean burgers for dinner (the Husband cooked them because they’re my favorite). I went to our small group where we had cupcakes and I ate two because Baby B wanted one, too.

It was a pretty solid birthday, if I do say so myself!

Now onto Friday Saturday Fours.

happy birthday froyo

I added strawberries to my froyo to disguise it as healthy. Did it work?!

Four thoughts from this week

  • What if my birthday isn’t REALLY my birthday and my mom has been lying to me this whole time and I’m actually a year older or younger or something?!
  • Speaking of which, I had a wonderful birthday and thank YOU for all the sweet comments and shout-outs via social media. You all know how to make a girl feel extra-special!
  • I had a $5 Target promo code, so I went online to buy a maxi dress. Then I spent $47 and had to spend $3 more for free shipping. So I added another dress. Then I was up to about $70. And I checked out. Did I remember the promo code?! HECK NO. Complete and total online shopping fail.
  • When the Husband is away the wife will play! (And by ‘play’ I mean eat cupcakes and watch Millionaire Matchmaker).

Four pregnancy notes

  • My abs hurt. Especially when I’m sitting down, but they basically hurt all of the time. I’m blaming poor posture on this one, but this is the most uncomfortable pregnancy symptom I’ve had thus far (except for the first trimester nausea) so I’ll gladly take it.
  • We hired a doula and signed the contract and gave her the deposit – so it’s official! I’m so, so excited about this. I feel like our labor & delivery ‘team’ is coming together quite nicely.
  • Remember how last week I was trying to avoid the maternity section? This week I bought maternity clothes (basically just the essentials – like tank tops) because they are adorable. My credit card is now crying and I really feel like this is a slippery, slippery slope.
  • A few times in the past week, Baby B has kicked me so hard I’ve become startled. This especially happens if my arm is relaxing and touching my belly.

Four links (that are too good not to share)

  • On being vegetarian. (via Zen Habits) *Loved this, even though I was definitely convicted by it. I think it’s a must read.
  • On climate change. (via The Economist)
  • On MBA grads NOT necessarily rushing around to find jobs. (via Wall Street Journal)
  • On paternity leave (via USA Today). *Only watch this if you want to get super pissed off annoyed with some dumb men’s views on paternity leave. I will eventually write an entire blog post on this. I watched this and was fuming. SO FREAKIN’ ANNOYED.*

Four posts (of mine) you may have missed

  • This is how to react appropriately to a loved one telling you she’s pregnant. (Mon)
  • My birthday buddy is better than your birthday buddy. (Tues)
  • It’s all in the numbers. (Wed)
  • A quick March recap (Thurs)
  • Turning to God FIRST. (Fri)

What were you up to this week?! Any highlights?!

Cheers!
