Marriage… what I like sharing and what I don’t.

I never thought I would enjoy being as married as much as I do.

I really, seriously love it.

Most days, anyway. 😉

I’ve realized that marriage forces me to share a lot of things… and some things in life I love sharing, while other things in life… not so much.

For instance (because I love lists, if you haven’t noticed)…

I absolutely love sharing:

  • Expenses
  • Stories of our days and failures and successes
  • Meals
  • Household responsibilities
  • Dog responsibilities
  • The Husband’s food (I don’t share my own food)
  • Awkward moments that no one else would understand
  • Happiness
  • The bed
  • Pajamas (well, I like wearing his. It’d be kind of weird if he started wearing mine)
  • Time
  • Ridiculous dance moves
  • New experiences and places
  • Friends
  • Runs or walks
  • Money
  • Books
  • Love
  • Laughs
  • Body heat
  • Chores (especially making dinner. I would include ‘taking out the garbage’ but the Husband just does that one, so I guess we don’t really share it.)
  • Families
  • The physical stuff… you know. Like hugs, and stuff.

And I’m not a fan of sharing:

  • The remote
  • My trashy-reality-tv watching time
  • My food
  • Body wash (he uses WAY more than he needs to, and my stuff is expensive!)
  • Hot water in the shower (I used to think we’d shower together always… nope, I need my space and my hot water)
  • Disappointments (meaning I don’t necessarily love sharing my disappointments with my husband, even though I know he’ll love me and support me no matter what)
  • Cranky moods
  • Couch space
  • Closet space
  • Loofahs (we were using the same one for MONTHS and I never noticed the other one was going untouched)

And some things I just wouldn’t share… like a toothbrush. I would share a razor and we share towels all of the time… but a toothbrush – no way jose.

What do you love/hate sharing?! Is there anything you’d never ever share?

Cheers!
