Snapshot of life in January.

I skipped writing a ‘currently’ post in December because I couldn’t possibly do it without mentioning this whole pregnancy thing and I figured if I’m going to lie, I may as well not even write the post! But now the ‘currently’ post is back, because I like to look back at what I was up to at any given point in time!

i must say, these months have been going by in a freakin’ blur! I still cannot believe that it’s already over a week into January and the new year. When I look back at my November ‘currently’ post I realized that we had just found out we were pregnant, we had just gotten back from Argentina, and I was still a month away from starting a new job. Some things change so quickly and others seem to stay the exact same (like I still haven’t even started that dang wedding album I need to do!).

Enough looking at the past, let’s look at the present, shall we?!

In January, I’m currently:

Reading: The last book I completed was ‘Orange Is the New Black‘. It was very different than the show, but I loved it.  Now I’m onto the next book on my list! (Not decided which particular book I’m picking up next, though).

Watching: We finished Breaking Bad two days ago. Wow, wow, wow. I’m definitely satisfied with the ending but geeesh that last season was a bit intense!

Listening to: My new favorite Songza playlist (as of yesterday) is the Mainstream Indie playlist.

Obsessing over: Hot chocolate. I cannot get enough of hot chocolate, or hot beverages in general. They just warm the soul, don’t you think!? Also, I’m pretty obsessed with the Twisted Peppermint scent at Bath & Body Works. I don’t know what it is about it, but I’m seriously loving my hand lotion.

Shopping for: Well J.Crew just had a 40% off sale items… So yes, I bought quite a few things. But boring stuff, like a long sleeve and short sleeve t-shirt and a super-cute sweater. Had to have them! I also recently bought myself a coat (belated Christmas present, you know.)

Wearing: My new Lululemon Wunder Under pants (I actually wore them to work today… and I wear them to sleep… I probably need to take these things off eventually) and long-ish sweaters. I’m all about the casual and comfy look lately! I need to snap out of it though, I think the cold weather is taking a toll on my general appearance.

Learning: I’m still adjusting to my new job! So basically I’m learning how to be a member of the working world, again.

Thinking: About where we’re going to live next! We’re officially apartment searching and looking at different neighborhoods in the city to move to 🙂

Bothered by: Feeling bleh. I didn’t throw up at all in my first trimester of pregnancy (I felt pukey always but never actually threw up) but my morning sickness has been pretty bad this week! I threw up on Monday and have barely been able to get out of bed the last few days. I’m hoping I can snap out of this soon!

Eating: More fruit, especially pears. I love pears.

Drinking: Hot water flavored with lemon and honey. It’s my new go-to drink in the night and morning before work. I recommend it as a relaxing way to both start and end your day!

Wasting time on: Reading through pregnancy/baby message boards online. Ohhhh the things that get said on message boards is truly amazing. I could be entertained for hours by these ladies! But really, there is nothing useful there and I highly, highly recommend you stay away from them.

Loving: That it’s a new year! Our 2014 ended on a high note and I’m definitely ready to continue it into this year.

Praying for: Health and everyone going through life transitions!

Working on: Connecting more with people, both online and in the ‘real’ world.

Looking forward to: Planning a few trips over the next few months! Traveling is the only thing that gets me through the next few months in Chicago… it’s such a dreary time of year!
