A ‘Friday Four’ post on a Saturday… Just go with me on this.

No, you aren’t imagining things. This is indeed a Saturday post, written by yours truly. Usually I have a hard time publishing posts four days per week, much less five days, but here I am on my seventh post this week and I kind of like this consistency thing! Don’t get used to it, though. I make no promises about the future – I just have things to say, darnit, and as long as I have things to say, I’ll keep on posting! Thanks (as always) for following along.

This week was a fun week and jam-packed. My only night ‘off’ (totally without plans) was Thursday and I spent it filling my brain with Teen Mom 2 drama. It was perfect. The rest of my days were filled with work (boooooring) and the nights were filled with dates, Bible studies, and spending time snuggling with my main man (obviously, I’m referring to Ozzie, but the Husband was there, too).

Four thoughts from this week

  • One of my absolute favorite people in the world is back in Chi-town for this weekend! To say my heart is happy is such an understatement. There are very few people in this world who I feel like ‘get’ me wherever I’m at in life, and my friend Brittany is one of those people. I’m still holding a grudge against Portland because that’s where she currently resides, but whatever, I’ll just be happy she’s physically near me for the time being!
  • The Husband and I went on an unplanned fancy date on Tuesday, and it was amazing! We went to Bavettes (steakhouse) and I highly, highly recommend this restaurant if you’re ever in Chicago and don’t mind splurging on a meal. It was definitely a nicer dinner than we had planned on, but it was so worth it. Plus, every date night is a special occasion, right?!
  • Ozzie is warming up nicely to our new apartment, which makes me very, very happy! It’s nice to see that our little Monster is adjusting to his new location. I think the lack of drugs in his system this week definitely helped.
  • Lent is upon us! I love this time of year. This year I’m going to be reading the entire New Testament in 40 days following this reading plan. I’m not giving up anything specific, per se, but I really believe that by intentionally being in the Word more, I’ll be forced to give up other things just out of necessity, and I’ll also be focusing more on God and pursuing a relationship with Him. I’m excited!

Four pregnancy notes

  • I feel like the belly is out! Nope, I still haven’t ‘popped’ yet, but I put on a pair of pants the other day that I totally had to hair tie together to ‘button’. My low-rise pants still fit perfectly, though.
  • The other night I woke up at 4:30am because Baby B was practicing somersaults in my abdomen. Like, I had this rock hard ball just moving from side to side. It was the strangest thing ever and of course I woke up the Husband to show him, too. It was uncomfortable but incredible!
  • I feel Baby B moving pretty consistently now, all day long. It’s the best, truly.
  • I still haven’t gotten into a good workout ‘routine’, but I’m working on it and am planning on trying out new classes. I really haven’t taken as good of care of myself as I could have these first few (five!) months of pregnancy, so I need to get my butt in gear.
