Conversations we’ve had in the last few days. (Part 2)

(See the first installment here)

Him: Do you think I’ll love Ozzie as much once Baby Tati (the nickname we use for the specimen in my uterus) is born?

Me: You know, once the baby is born you still have to love me the most. First God then wife, then baby, then Ozzie.

Him: Hmmmm… but you’re not as soft and furry.

(Little does the Husband know I am solving this problem by going on a shaving hiatus as soon as I pop this baby out. Or maybe sooner. I wouldn’t want to risk our love life!)

What he should have said: Of course I’ll love you the most! No question.

Me: I should really start attempting to look a little better… I kind of look like crap in these photos.

Him: Meh, you’re pregnant, it’s fine.

What he should have said: I don’t think you could look any prettier, babe!

Me: So you’re still okay with the names we picked out for Baby B, right?

Him: What are the names?

Me: ______ and ______

Him: Oh, did we decide on that?

Me: Uhhhh yeah! We had a lot of conversations about them!

Him: And I agreed to them?

Me: Yes!

Him: Oh. I’m not sure I like ______. What would the nickname be?

Me: We wouldn’t use a nickname, ______ is it.

Him: Oh, I don’t think I like that. I’m going to have to think about this.

Me: WE’VE ALREADY DISCUSSED THIS! IN DETAIL! You said you liked it!

Him: Yeah… I don’t know about that. What about ______ (brand new name we have never discussed)?

Me: What?! Now you’re adding new names?!

Him: Well I didn’t know we had already decided!

Me: BUT EVERY TIME SOMEONE ASKS IF WE HAVE DECIDED ON A NAME, I SAY YES!

Him: Yeah, I was wondering why you say that.

What he should have said: Oh, ______ and ______? Sounds great! Those are my favorite names and I’m glad we decided on them.

… Ohhhh he sure does keep my life interesting.
