Too good to put down (things I’m reading).

As I’ve previously mentioned (a bunch of times, sorry for the repetition), I’m working on being intentional this year, and along with that I want to share things on this blog that I’ve been intentionally doing (mainly at home), which I think have benefited me and therefore might benefit other people.

Reading is something I’ve been intentional about, as I’ve been working on filling my time with books instead of aimlessly scrolling on my phone or watching TV. It always helps when I have an especially good book sitting on my lap.

Unbroken (by Laura Hillenbrand) would fall into this category.

Have you guys read it?! It’s fantastic. I’m not a big movie watcher and therefore I don’t plan on seeing this movie, but I highly, highly recommend the book. I felt inspired, sad, horrified, disgusted, uplifted, and peaceful throughout this story. I put the book down being amazed at how awful humans can be to one another, and at the same time I was in awe at how resilient the human spirit is. For those of you who don’t know, this book is a true story of a man (Louis Zamperini) who went from a mischievous child, to an Olympic runner, to an airman in WWII, to a POW, to a born again Christian.

The next books I’m looking forward to reading are:

One Thousand Gifts

I’m always looking for book recommendations! What is the last great book you read and the one you’re most looking forward to reading?
