Sometimes I just title these posts with whatever I’m thinking right-this-second even if it has nothing to do with the actual post.
Although, I guess having sunburned knees does have something to do with this post because I just got back from Hawaii and I do in fact, have sunburned knees. And feet. Yuck.
We landed this afternoon and I’ve spent my afternoon/evening catching up on super important stuff.
Like:
- Work (bleh)
- Episodes of The Voice (drooling over Blake, Adam and Usher – basically)
- Picking up our little Monster from human grandma’s house
- Laundry
- Blogging
So it’s actually been a productive day!
Our flight back was awesome because it was a red-eye flight and I was exhausted enough to sleep almost the entire way. Perfection.
We were only in Hawaii a few days, and the only island we visited was Oahu. It was gorgeous (obviously.)
I spent my time in Hawaii…
- Eating a ton of shaved ice and ice cream. One day I even ate pineapple ice cream before 10am, but I think that’s okay because it was fruit flavored and therefore more like yogurt… right?
- Getting lost in the World’s Largest Maze (on the Dole plantation).
- Eating super-delicious seafood.
- Seeing Pearl Harbor (or rather, the USS Arizona Memorial).
- Drinking anything mixed with rum.
- Hiking.
- Laying out (and reading!) underneath palm trees.
- Watching surfers on the north shore.
- Jogging and stopping frequently to take in some views.
- Kayaking to some tiny islands (without flipping the kayak!) and observing sea turtles swimming along. Guys, this is big – I have ALWAYS wanted to sea a sea turtle swimming along in the ocean. Life goal… check!
It was a fabulous vacation, indeed!
I realize this is a super-weak vaca recap, and I promise that I’ll have a better recap of this by next week, but editing photos is hard work so I thought I’d stick to the basics for today. I’m going to ease my way into this real-world thing.
(Yeah, I know I was only gone for 5 days, but it’s still an adjustment, darnit.)
Wish me luck waking up for work tomorrow… this 5 hour time difference may kill me.
