Oh Friday you sneaky son-of-a-gun, here you are again!
(Sidenote: Does Friday have an animal associated with it?! I feel like Wednesday has all of a sudden become so relevant because of a camel (who I adore), but Friday kind of has nothing going on except countdowns to the end of the workday. Someone please make a commercial for Friday, please. Thanks.)
I’m excited for this weekend because we have some fun plans with friends and family coming up and it should be a great time had by all! Plus, this week (even though it was short) was a rough one for me, so I’m glad to kiss it goodbye! But, we can’t really say goodbye to a week without Friday Fours…

4 Favorite Things:
- 75 degree weather
- Cooking/eating (fresh) home cooked meals. The Husband and I have been doing super-great at this lately and it makes me feel sooo much better than eating frozen or packaged food. Although, I am having a mac & cheese craving.
- Judge Judy! (How have I never watched her show before?! It is gold – pure gold.)
- Planning hypothetical vacations. Really, it would be much easier/cheaper if I simply enjoyed online shopping instead of random online vacation planning. Whoops!
4 Confessions:
- I’ve been in quite the mood this week. And I don’t mean the good kind. Let’s just blame it on PMS and move on and hope that this mood also moves on ASAP!
- I am a cleaning failure. I attempted to start cleaning our house and I’ve realized what an impossibly big task that is. I definitely have a new respect for housewives who take on all of these responsibilities themselves!
- I love, love, love reading. However, a few hours after I read a book – I can barely remember the main character’s name much less any of the minor details. I blame it on the fact that I read purely for entertainment and I read FAST.
- I’m starting to get a bit more anxious about being unemployed. I think I’m ready to at least know what the next step in my life is! I’m praying for patience at this ‘in between’ stage of life, but it’s not coming to me easily!
4 Favorite Links Articles:
- On overpopulation (via Fast Company)
- On pulling out as a form of birth control (via NY Mag)
- An opinion on Syria (via The New York Times)
- A (not necessarily) childless generation (via The Atlantic)
4 Posts I Wrote This Week:
- A little Labor Day chit chat. (Mon)
- My perfectly simple day (which happened to include cheese-grater-like abs) (Tues)
- Don’t be a floozy and other rules of online dating. (Wed)
- A little unsolicited (newlywed) advice. (Thurs)
Featured Blog:
Let me just say that I am so freakin’ lucky when it comes to the ladies who sponsor this little blog of mine, because they are so amazing that I can’t wait to tell you all about them! Of course, this week is no exception – and I’m excited to introduce you to Melyssa from The Nectar Collective.
Not only is Melyssa a hilarious blogger, but I also admire her optimistic and gracious spirit that comes through in every single blog post. Yep, this is a blogger that I look up to and a blog that I look forward to reading every single day! As a bonus, sometimes she even lets her puppy, Monja take over! (I must admit, Moja seems like he would be a much better blogger than my own little Monster would be. Sigh.)
Not only is Melyssa a great blog post writer, but she also has quite a few other things happening on The Nectar Collective – like a wonderful weekly linkup of ‘Weekly Wishes’ and even a new e-course called ‘Everyday Happy.’ Plus, she co-hosts a Snail Mail Collective each month because she loves to travel and receive mail and, well, who doesn’t?! Ummm can we all agree that she’s a wonderful blogging over-achiever?! (But seriously, get in on the linkup and e-course fun!)
Don’t worry, if you’re feeling like me and are all of a sudden overcome with feelings of inadequacy because all you did today was tweet twice and maybe post on a blog and perhaps play a few levels of Candy Crush, Melyssa has a cure for that, too, because she wrote a great list of ways to feel like you accomplished something today. Since I have managed to shower in the last 12 hours, I’m all of a sudden feeling much better about myself!
All kidding aside, this is a blog I absolutely love and I encourage you to check her out immediately!
And don’t forget to stalk befriend her on Bloglovin’, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram!
