As you know, I’ve been on the job hunt for quite some time. And unfortunately, I’m still quite unemployed and getting a little bit bored of this whole ‘job searching’ thing. I think I’m going through a quarter-life crisis (I’ve been saying this every year since I turned 20) in which I’m convinced I should be doing so much more with life! But alas, the jobs I want don’t really exist (which is a problem). I guess people don’t want to pay me to do what I really LOVE. Sucks, sucks, sucks.
But, if I could do and/or be anything in the world (and get paid to do it), I think I’d like to like to be a professional…
Blogger. If someone could pay me to blog, my problems would all be solved.
Food critic. I think this would be the ultimate job. Someone can pay me to eat at delicious restaurants and I will give it a ranking and we’ll all be happy.
Talker. I’m great at talking. I’m pretty good at listening, too, but talking is more my jam. So maybe I need to have my own radio show or something… hmmmm…
Fashion… person. Can someone just pay me to walk around in super expensive clothing, please?
Photographer. I wish I was good enough at taking pictures to make a living from it, because I would love nothing more than to be at people’s big events and capturing memories for a family!
Reader. Pay me to read all day, and I would be in a permanent state of bliss. I would even take recommendations! (But don’t ask for a book summary, I never remember what I read.)
Tweeter. I think I’d be waaaay more dedicated to Twitter if it was my full-time job.
Google researcher. I think someone should pay me to look up random things on the internet all day long. I mean, I know most researchers use books, but I don’t want to be THAT serious.
Student. If I could get PAID to go to class and take notes and pass exams and just learn random subjects for the rest of my life, I’d be one happy lady.
Cheese tester. I could test all of the cheese in the world and make sure it’s still delicious. (It will be. Obviously.)
Baby / puppy holder. I love holding babies and puppies, so can I find a job that just entails holding small, cute things? (Diaper changing not included in this job description.)
Life coach. I would TOTALLY be a life coach if I could start my own business and make millions of dollars without any self-promotion. If you know of a way to make this happen, let me know.
Reality TV show watcher. I’d even write reviews on all my favorite shows! Of course, I would need this job to come with a free cable subscription, since I don’t even have that right now… But seriously, I could do an awesome recap of the Real Housewives reunion shows.
Life planner. If I could get paid to think about my own future and try to make detailed plans on hypothetical situations that may never happen, I’d be a millionaire by sundown.
Stay-at-home-dog-owner. Will someone please just pay me to sit at home and watch Judge Judy and watch my dog to make sure he’s sleeping well? This is pretty much my current job, but with MONEY, which would help.
Traveler. I could travel the world and someone could pay me to do it! I’d even take pretty pictures and make a recommendation or two. Maybe I could be a guide book author… how do I get into that field?
Advice columnist. I would love to be the person that reads everyone’s letters and responds to their life questions! I’m pretty sure these people are going extinct with the dinosaurs, though.
Massage dummy. I could be the person that all the massage therapy students practice their massages on! (But I don’t want to test the hot stones, I feel like that could end badly.)
Sideline sports announcer. “GOOOOOOOOAAAALLLLL!” Or really, I could just be the lady who goes up to players after the game and ask them their thoughts on specific plays. Yep, this I could do. Hey, ESPN, call me up!
Photobook creator. You know those photo books that have replaced scrapbooks? Well, even though I’m still years behind the ones I need to create for the Husband and I, I actually love making them! Pay me, I will make your memories beautiful and collage-like!
OK, I should just stop here before I get even more carried away.
