This was a big week on this little blog!
I’m hosting this giveaway with Kari.
I co-hosted my first link-up (with Brittany).
And I talked about all things on my mind. Per usual.
39 weeks and still cookin’!
Outside of the blog I wasn’t as active. I went to church group, spent time running errands with Tim (we need to get that hospital bag ready, darnit!) and we generally tried to take it as easy as possible. We also finally went to the (rumored to be) best ice cream spot in the city, Margies. We split a sundae and a root beer float and this pregnant lady was so, so happy. Life continues to be good over here!
I used to drink two martinis on dates, now I eat two desserts. No shame.
Time for Friday Fours!
Four thoughts from this week
- I had the pleasure of eating Thai food with a girlfriend I don’t see often enough this week. I love catching up with girlfriends who have known me for 10+ years. There’s something so comforting in shared history.
- The Bachelorette… I hate to admit it, but I really did like Cody. I mean, sure he looked like he belonged on Jersey Shore, but what a sweet personality! Am I the only one who was a fan?
- The World Cup… I haven’t been watching it (but I promise, I’ll start soon!). As Lisa pointed out in the comments last week, the USA hadn’t yet advanced (I totally thought they had), but now I know they have, so it turns out I was just predicting the future and trying to present it as facts. Way to go, psychic self.
- Working from home is something I could definitely get used to, and I’m doing it all week every week now. The main benefit is that I get to be naked all freakin’ day until I have to put clothes on to go somewhere. Nakedness is where it’s at. I’m typing this very sentence naked, that’s how great life is right now. Although, I’m on my work computer and I always fear that somehow the camera will turn itself on and whoever is messaging me will get a glimpse of my boobs. Meh.
Four pregnancy notes
- Tim and I went to Target for an hour or so and walking around that much made me feel like I was going to die. It’s not my lungs nor my legs nor my pelvis… nope, it’s my abs. What in the world is going on, body?! Evidently my abs are not in favor of supporting this little human anymore.
- We had our 39 week appointment this week, and I’m not going to lie, I left it feeling quite defeated. I’m tired of saying that my body isn’t indicating labor is around the corner (even though that means nothing) and I was completely overwhelmed at all the testing they want to do at the next 2 appointments.
- Bumpy is a mini-furnace. This whole week I was convinced it was at least 105 degrees in our apartment, and threatened Tim’s life every time he turned off the A/C.
Tim: Blah blah blah something about saving the electricity… blah blah blah…
Lisa: KEEP THE DAMN A/C ON, SIR!
(That was pretty much our conversation every day this week.)
- Bumpy is still moving and grooving in there and showing no signs that (s)he’s in any rush to come out. I think it’s because I eat Oreos all day, and if I was a little one just sitting in a warm amniotic fluid bath, snacking on Oreos, I might not leave, either! I’m thinking of switching to eating salads only so (s)he decides to come on out and hope the ‘real world’ has better food to offer.
