Coming back to reality and other things I don’t necessarily love.

Do you know what I don’t necessarily love? Coming back from vacation. I mean, obviously. I know that some people say ‘Oh it’s good to be back! I get to sleep in my own bed!’ but I don’t understand those people.

I would prefer to sleep in a bed somewhere in Europe, thankyouverymuch. At least for a few weeks longer.

This was pretty much my lunch every day on vacation. Life was so good.

Do you know what else (besides coming back from vacation) I don’t love?

  1. Not being able to help someone out of a situation.
  2. Making a left turn (in a car) without an arrow.
  3. Sleeping. *Don’t judge me (too harshly) for this one!*
  4. Feeling rushed.
  5. Being geographically apart from loved ones.
  6. Realizing I’m wrong.
  7. When marketers tell me I ‘need’ something.
  8. Tomatoes.
  9. Saying goodbye.
  10. Ignorance/rudeness.
  11. Making mistakes.
  12. Irrational anxiety.
  13. ‘The Big Bang Theory’ (the TV show).
  14. Flat pillows.
  15. Saying ‘no’.
  16. Slow internet speeds.
  17. Group texts.
  18. Violence in movies/on TV/in books/etc.
  19. Not having actual work to do at work.
  20. Conflict.
  21. Having unread emails/text messages/updates/etc showing up on my phone. Basically, notifications just stress me out and I must check them IMMEDIATELY.
  22. Flight delays.
  23. Stuff/clutter.
  24. Littering.
  25. When people respond ‘haha’ to every text/gchat message/everything. I mean, I’m funny, but I’m not THAT hilarious!

Phew, I’m glad I got that off my chest.

On a more positive note, I will say that I feel blessed to have a life that I don’t feel the need to escape from. I never feel like I need a vacation, instead, I just really love the experience of traveling and I’d prefer that over my ‘normal’ life, but who wouldn’t?! If only I had unlimited funds…

I would love to go back and walk around this park some more, please.

Anyway. I’m trying to get back into my routine but at a slower pace. I’ve been trying to cram way, way too much into my days lately and that needs to slow down quite a bit, because I’m getting worn out, darnit! This means re-prioritizing and letting some things go and these are things I dislike immensely. I really love everything I’m involved in and I hate the thought of being less involved! But alas, it has to happen. I haven’t decided what I’m actually going to give up yet, but I have a feeling it’s going to be…. yeah okay, I can’t even finish that thought. I really have no freakin’ clue.

One of the reasons I am happy to be back is because our lives are getting more and more interesting! We have labor & delivery classes starting soon, baby showers, we have to create a nursery for Bumpy, we have meetings with our doula, we have doctor appointments every two weeks (and then every week!), we’re changing our names (legally), we have date nights on the calendar, our Bible groups are still meeting regularly, and really it’s just a great time to be us! There are so many happy things going on right now and I am thrilled.

Yeah, it sucks ending a vacation and needing to come back to reality with work and responsibilities and all of that stuff – but when regular life is such fun, I guess it’s not so bad after all!

Is there anything you’re not especially loving today?!

Cheers,
