Fact: weeks go by SO much faster now that I’m (f)unemployed. I mean I seriously just cannot get over how much I love every day, but how excited I get when it’s Friday so that I get to look forward to a whole weekend with the Husband! (Meaning, on weekends he can’t escape me to go to work!)
I actually just checked the calendar to make sure it is actually Friday. It is.
This week I spent recovering from vacation, going to brunch and shopping with a girlfriend, interviewing, and getting caught up on other assorted life ‘stuff’. It’s been pretty darn great.
Now, onto Friday topics!
4 Favorite Things:
- Spending time with my family – especially my cousins! They all live not-in-Chicago and I don’t get to see them nearly enough.
- Traveling. Obviously.
- Taking that first post-vacation shower at home and sleeping in my own bed
- Rainy days, which are now enhanced because we have a skylight in our apartment and is there anything better than laying in bed and listening to the rain fall? (OK, I know what you’re thinking and I agree – it could have been better if I had been eating mac & cheese)

4 Confessions:
- I love going to interviews. They remind me of first dates (which I also used to love, back when I could actually go on them)! I mean, who doesn’t like to talk about themselves for hours?! That’s why I blog! But more importantly, I love asking people questions and really learning about another person.
- I truly need a full 2 days to recover from a long weekend trip.
- Not going to the gym for a week is always, always a mistake. I went yesterday for the first time since last Thursday and I felt like garbage. Scratch that, I felt even worse than garbage. It was awful.
- I don’t know how I lived my life when I actually had a job. I managed to get everything done and kept my sanity, but I’m not sure how! I’m a bit scared to start working again (which I hope happens… when I get that dream job I’m searching for).
Gratuitious picture of cannolis from Mike’s Pastry, in Boston. Before I could tell the Husband not to eat it (because I had to take a picture, obvi) he had already taken a bite. Sigh.

4 Posts I Wrote This Week:
- Just when you thought you knew enough about me… (Mon)
- The (non-blogging) things I learn from reading blogs. (Tues)
- .. no post .. (Wed)
- Go to TN and gain 5 lbs, go to NE and lose it. I think it’s safe to say that I have this vacation strategy down. (Thurs)
Featured Blog:
If you haven’t heard of Beth from Hang On Honey yet, well, then I really don’t know where you’ve been. This is a blog I’ve been following and laughing with/at/etc for (almost) as long as it’s been around. Beth is not only a friggen hilarious blogger, but she’s a super sweet person, too – so of course I’m extra-excited that I have the chance to feature her on this blog of mine! (You’d better just start here or here to learn more about her).
When she isn’t writing hilarious (and totally true) posts about blogging, she’s making me nod and smile with posts about living with a guy (but seriously, why do they have so many socks?!) and the stress in all that is planning a wedding. Nope, I can’t say I want to go back to that phase in my life, thankyouverymuch. But what I really love about Beth is that she gets real on her blog and isn’t afraid to share what’s on her heart.
So you know the drill, you’re done reading this post so get your butt over and check out Hang on Honey (and say ‘hello’ to Beth while you’re there!)

Cheers to another weekend! (WHOA how did this one sneak up on me so fast?! Oh yeah, short week again. Life is good!)
