I’m thankful for a great many things this weekend.
Some of which include…
- Spending time with some wonderful ladies at a good friend’s baby shower. She and her husband are expecting their baby boy to join them in early April, and I could not be more excited for them! It’s always an honor to be invited to celebrate in other people’s special events. Also, at this baby shower I learned that I suck at decorating tiny onesies. I mean, I could have assumed this ahead of time, because I’m not artistic at all, but it was definitely confirmed over the weekend.
This is clearly not the pregnant friend, but it is my good friend from Milwaukee!
- A visit from one of my oldest friends, who made the trek down from Milwaukee to have the Husband perform some minor surgery on her computer. It was so great to catch up with her! (Even though, of course, it’s never enough time!)
- A great sermon at church on Sunday. The Husband and I went to the service and ran into so many people that we knew, which makes it feel more and more like home. It was such a great way to start the day!
- Brunch on Sunday with friends/a couple from our church group. We went to Ann Sathers in Lakeview and it was delicious, per usual. I got the Swedish potatoes and hash browns (with cheese) and of course, had a side of cinnamon rolls. It’s impossible to go to Ann Sather’s without eating at least one ginormous cinnamon roll. As an additional perk, the couple we went with is relatively new to Chicago and hadn’t discovered the goodness that is Ann Sathers yet, so we were able to introduce them to something new and delicious!
- A far-too-long Sunday nap. (Necessary after the very large brunch.)
- Quality time spent with the Husband. Well, he was packing and I was supervising, but that seems like quality time to me.
What were you thankful for this weekend?!
Cheers!
