I can’t lie, guys, I’m tired this week. Life is just getting plain hectic lately. This week was filled with church group and dinners with girlfriends (I went to Slurping Turtle and Hannah’s Bretzel and just loved every second of each of these places. Highly recommended!) and workouts and decorating/unpacking the rest of the apartment and just a lot of other ‘stuff.’ I mean, fun stuff, but tiring stuff nonetheless. And of course, this is the week that work has really picked up so I was trying to fit five days of work into three days (because I took Thursday and Friday off)… Basically, I feel like I haven’t slept in a month. Maybe this is mommyhood training!
Don’t feel too bad for me, though, because if you follow me on Instagram/Twitter you know that I’m on vacation this (long) weekend and nothing beats that (so I’ll stop my complaining now)!
Let’s move onto Friday Saturday Fours!
Four thoughts from this week
- This week was a three day work week because this (long) weekend the Husband and I are traveling to Savannah and Charleston. So far I’m obsessed with both cities! I really want to introduce Spanish moss to Chicago. This stuff is gorgeous.
- I tried my first Pure Barre class this week (thanks for the inspiration, Hannah!). I’ve never really tried a barre class like this before, but it was pretty good! I’ll probably do a more full recap on it later, but I’ll say that I was definitely sore the next day and I will be back to workout there semi-consistently for the next few months!
- I’ve been wearing myself out lately. Story of my life. I’ve been going to bed at 2am and waking up at 8am and really, this schedule is not sustainable. I blame our social lives and unpacking and work being a bit hectic… I mean I have so much to do every single day and I’m the type of person who cannot go to sleep until every.single.thing is checked off my ‘to-do’ list.
- I’ve had that ‘talk dirty to me’ song stuck in my head for DAYS. Why? I have no idea, but there it is, on repeat, all day long.
Four pregnancy notes
- I worked out a few times in the past week, specifically I’ve gone running and tried my first Pure Barre class (yay for finally getting my booty in motion!). For some reason, my abs have been really bothering me during and after a workout. I don’t know the reason for this, but the only thing I can think of is that my abs are working overtime to keep this baby in and the baby wants to pop this bump out!
- If eating ice cream was an Olympic sport, I’d totally be a gold medalist. I’m not sure whether this is a pregnancy note or not, but I’m going to go ahead and blame the baby for me eating ice cream for breakfast (okay, that was actually frozen yogurt), lunch (a shake) and dinner yesterday.
- Baby B. is supposedly a foot long now! That is so crazy to me! (S)he’s getting big! I mean, I can’t even eat a foot-long sandwich from Subway because it’s too big, but Baby B somehow manages to fit in there!
- I was just telling the Husband yesterday that I still don’t feel pregnant. I know that sounds weird, but I’m not uncomfortable at all and I haven’t really changed my lifestyle too much and the only thing that’s really changed is that I feel this little one kicking inside of me a lot. It’s so surreal to me when I think about the future and realize there’s going to be a little baby in our family in less than four months. I really don’t think reality has set in yet.
I’m totally using Baby B as an excuse to eat this for breakfast. I mean, (s)he needs me to eat 300 extra calories a day, right?!
