After much anticipation, Clara Jane is finally here!
(I totally knew Bumpy would be a girl!)
Our first family picture, taken a few hours after our surgery!
Trust me, I shall write several posts about our (stressful) labor and delivery and my thoughts on having a newborn and all things Clara Jane. Because I couldn’t be happier and Tim couldn’t be happier and if I tried to talk/write about anything else my brain would explode.
For now, we’ll stick to ‘Baby By Numbers’
10 – The number of days past her estimated due date Clara decided to be born.
29 hours – The length of myour labor & delivery.
07/13/2014 – The date Clara Jane was born. I wish I could say she fell out of my vagina, like I had originally pictured, but instead she was yanked straight out of my uterus.
13:54 – The time of Clara’s birth.
8lbs 6oz – Clara is no lightweight, people!
21.5 inches – I don’t know how a body this long ever fit inside of me.
36 hours – The amount of time Clara spent under observation in the NICU before getting discharged.
3 – Nights we spent in the hospital.
10 – Fingers and toes this perfectly made baby has. Tim made sure to count them, just to be sure.
1 bijillion – number of people who have commented on the luscious locks and natural highlights this baby girl is rockin’. Yep, she was just sitting in my uterus primping for the real world, no wonder she took so long!
4 – Days old Clara Jane is today.
Infinite – the amount of thankful and blessed we feel to be brand-spankin’ new parents! Our support system is awesome and we’ve had family members and friends visit us the hospital, people constantly checking in from afar, the best doctors and nurses who took care of us, and of course – lots of love shown on social media when we ‘announced’ that Bumpy has an actual identity now!
I’m a mommy!
Cheers!
