Tomorrow is the last day of our very-extended holiday break, and I can’t decide if I’m ready to get back to ‘real life’ or not. I love the holiday season, of course. However, we don’t travel for it so we end up spending a lot of time at home – in a staycation of sorts. It was fun. We went ice skating, we saw friends, we saw family, we relaxed, we spent time with Clara, we did some things around the house, we cooked and ate food, we went out for brunch, we drank champagne.. but all good things must come to an end, and I’m a little excited to get back to a normal routine.
I think this is partly because I’m unsure of what our routine even looks like at this point. I mean, how will me and Clara pass the time without Tim with us full-time? I don’t know! I’m anxious to get involved in things with some sort of consistency, I guess that’s really what I’m excited about.
But if we won the lottery and Tim could retire early, I wouldn’t be sad about it, no sir.
Matching jammies! At first I wondered why the heck my boobs looked so weird in this picture, then I realized those are my knees. I don’t know why I love sitting like this, but I do, clearly.
(This Week) I’ve Learned:
- Who is behind the Instagram username @food. (here)
- Lasting relationships have plenty of kindness and generosity. (here)
- “…this year’s flu vaccine is less effective than usual, thanks to decisions that were made nearly a year ago. Making the flu vaccine is like predicting the future, and predicting the future is hard.” (here)
- The problem has become, how do we be intimate with only the people we actually want to be intimate with online? (here)
- You should probably buy your own modem, especially if you use Comcast. (here)
(This Week) Clara
… has started “sleep training” (more on this later) and it’s going super-well, I’m happy to say!
… is a pro at sitting up by herself. (She can’t get herself into a sitting position, but she can stay sitting when we put her down.)
… has 2 teeth.
… tried eating ‘real people’ food – avocado and banana!
… is really upset that she can’t crawl. I know this because she’ll try for about 2.3 seconds and then start screaming like it’s my fault that she can’t move forward.
