I’m always a bit behind on technology.
And by a ‘bit’ I mean I’m at least 5 years behind on the current ‘trends.’
I’m not even sure ‘trend’ is the right word… Is the iPhone a trend? Is Instagram? Pinterest? That’s what I’m talking about here, people.
I don’t know why I’m so slow to jump on the technology/social media bandwagon.
It’s a bit odd, considering my full-time job is in technology, but I like to think I’m just that complicated.
Sometimes I wear protective headgear while surfing the internet. Technology can be dangerous.
Anyway, lately I’ve been fully embracing technology and social media and I’ve been loving every second of it.
For example:
It took me quite a few years to decide to get a smartphone. But I made the transition in 2009. How did I live without it?!
And I definitely wasn’t the first person on Facebook. But now I use it daily.
I got an iPhone this year and it’s changed my world. But I probably won’t upgrade from my 4s for a little bit.
I’m new at this blogging thing but am absolutely loving it. Um because, HELLO, I get to meet/stalk awesome people!!!
And then there’s Twitter. I do not know how I did not know about the greatness of Twitter sooner. Seriously, someone should have told me.
I kind-of-sort-of love stalking and getting to know strangers online, so it’s the perfect tool for me. And I love sharing my random thoughts with others.
I’m sure I’m quite fascinating… to someone…. maybe. If nothing else, I am just happy knowing that my tweets will go down in history.
(Because I think the Library of Congress is collecting all of the tweets ever written. I could fact check this, but you should probably just take my word for it.)
On Twitter I plan to discuss such riveting topics as: alcohol consumption, the Husband, possibly the little Monster (dog), CrossFit, bloggy stuff, sports, etc. And I’m already following all of my favorite news sources – BEST. THING. EVER
Confession: It took me 2 or 3 tries to create my first tweet, but I did it. Now I’m unstoppable.
So thanks, technology. You’re pretty great. I think I’ll keep you around and we can go skipping off into the sunset. And then I will tweet about it, and possibly post a picture to Instagram.
