Let’s start out with a few love notes. Because Friday brings out the best in me (at least I like to think so).
Dear Jimmy John’s Triple Chocolate Chunk Cookies, you’re even better than your predecessor! I’m super-excited that a Jimmy Johns opened up conveniently next door to my office. I shall be a frequent visitor and I intend to buy a cookie each and every time I stop in for lunch.
Dear Coworkers, you’re pretty fun. I’m sorry that I’m not better at trivia… I promise I’ll pull my weight next week. I think I provided you with entertainment at least, right?! Well, maybe I just entertained myself. At three drinks in, I no longer care who I’m entertaining, exactly.
Dear Crossfit, you are still hard. Each and every time. Also, I hope to never need to row 1600m ever again. If someone is chasing me on a river and I’m in a boat and have to row away to survive… I am doomed.
Dear New Restaurants, I can’t get enough of you. I’m so glad I live in Chicago where you exist in vast quantities.
Dear Snooze Button, you are the best and worst thing that has ever happened to me.
Dear Hair, why do I spend so long straightening you each morning if you’re just going to get wavy as soon as I leave the apartment. Seriously, hair?! I’m over you. No, nevermind I need you to be on my side. Please forgive me. But in the future, try a bit harder to be manageable, k?

And I think I’ll also mention some of my most-fun happenings of the week… in case you’re interested in what I’ve been up to! Have I mentioned that this week was phenomenal?
1 // Seeing my best friend and her son. They live in St Louis and I don’t see them nearly often enough.
2 // Going to the Blackhawks game with my dad, his girlfriend and the Husband. They won in a shootout, so the game was exciting and really entertaining, per usual. Plus, as a bonus, two men sitting next to us bought me a sundae and a Stella (beer). I thought that getting married would discourage other men from buying me free anything, but it turns out this isn’t the case!
3 // Winning at trivia. I’m glad my teammates are far, far better at knowing random facts than I am. We won $50, and promptly spent our winnings (and then some) paying our tab.
4 // Easter. I had a wonderful time with my family. I even baked biscuits and whipped up a casserole – it was quite the domestic success (for me)! Plus, my mom gave us an Easter basket (yes, the Husband and I had to share!), which means that I’ve been eating copious amounts of Reese’s eggs for breakfast and dessert.
5 // The little things. It’s been getting warmer, work has been wonderfully productive, I truly enjoy spending time with my husband, the sun is setting later and later in the evening, I had some great workouts the last few days, and I recently acquired my first-ever curling iron.
Yep, life is especially sweet right now, so I’ll leave you with a song that I think is also sweet awesome:
*Linking up with Whitney and Ashley today!*
Cheers!
