Friday Fours and a gratuitous Bumpy pic.

This week was a great week because: we hosted our church small group, we enjoyed a weekend-like Monday that we used to enjoy time with family and friends, we enjoyed great weather, we ‘graduated’ from our last labor and delivery class (we went to a very ‘crunchy’ class that focused on natural birth, and we absolutely loved it), and today I’m working from home and hopefully Tim will be joining me soon so we can go on a coffee/lunch date!

Onto Friday Fours…

For those of you who are wondering what I look like lately… (This was taken last weekend at 34 weeks pregnant)

Four thoughts from this week

  • Every week should involve two days in the office and two days working from home and one extra day of weekend. This is one of the reasons I’ve decided to be a SAHM once Bumpy arrives, I’m so much happier at home than in the office.
  • Great weather in Chicago seriously makes me forget that we had an 8 month long winter. Over the last few weeks my coworkers and I have eaten several lunches outside, and it is delightful and a wonderful way to break up the day. Plus, I’m way more likely to eat a salad in the summer, so I feel better, too!
  • What did I do before Amazon Prime? Did I go shopping in person for things? How did I know what to buy without the customer reviews?! In the last few weeks I bought a crib, a crib mattress, a journal… we use Amazon Prime for everything.
  • Our to-do list never seems to get shorter, but I’ve reached a more calm place about it. The important stuff will get done, I’m confident.

Four pregnancy notes

  • We now go to our midwifery visits every week (at our new midwifery group). I am really, really thankful that Tim has been able to go to every single appointment with me. We’re really getting to the end of this thing!
  • Like I mentioned before, we finished our labor and delivery classes and learned a LOT from the doulas who were running the class. I’m very glad we chose to go to a class outside of the hospital so that we got a more ‘natural’ education about birth.
  • Bumpy is head down and moving more than ever (Seriously, (s)he moves all day long)! Both of these things make me very, very happy.
  • Our midwife showed us how to feel Bumpy’s head and OHMYGOODNESS that thing is hard! (I thought his/her legs & butt was his/her head before… clearly I’m not a doctor nor a pregnancy expert.) It makes it seem even more real that I know where Bumpy’s actual body parts are.

Four links (that are too good not to share)

Four Three posts (of mine) you may have missed

  • The only thing that would be better than a three day weekend would be a four day weekend. Maybe five days. (Tues)
  • Answered prayers and my decision to be a SAHM. (Wed)
  • Things I can no longer do (because Bumpy has invaded my personal space in a huge way). (Thurs)

I hope you have a marvelous weekend enjoying time with loved ones and fantastic almost-summer weather!

Cheers,
